I can relate to the "it's like working for a tyrant"
story in immaculate detail. My boss who shall remain nameless is in
his late teens and a relative of the owner, which explains how he
went from dishwasher to manager in three months passing up a much more
qualified applicant who had been with the company for about five years.
He has no people skills AT ALL, he insults the customers and staff,
constantly calls the owner, (who is good boss, by the way), an idiot
and many other things too graphic to describe. He has many rules
that only apply to the people on the job that he is not sleeping
with, there are a couple of those. He is power crazy and thinks that
he can do anything that he damn well pleases and spends more time on
the phone with his girlfriend than he does with the job. He is the
only reason that at least 3 people have already quit and five more are
quitting before July 1st, me being one of them, and I have been
there for four years. As to my response after I told him where he could
stick it this morning, I told my boss giving up this job would be a
small price to pay to get away from him.
